Initially, this painting was supposed be about the way the Holy Spirit illuminates the darkness within and without me by pointing me to the light of Jesus. Towards the end of the painting while I was painting myself, I lost control of the brush and somehow ended up painting a little girl. The Holy Spirit told me this was intentional because the little girl represented my inner child being healed by the love of Jesus Christ.
